Candidates applying for SSC Exams must be 18 years of age and maximum age limit is 32 years of age (as on August 1, 2018). Lower and Upper age Limit differs for each Post. SSC CGL exam is conducted through four phases – Tier I: Preliminary Exam; Tier II: Main Exam; Tier III: Descriptive Test and Tier IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test.

  • Tier 1 has objective type Question Paper with 100 questions .Tier 1 Includes General Intelligence ,Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. 
  • Tier 2 Is for the candidates who qualify Tier 1 and has Four papers With 400 questions. Tier 2 Includes Quantitative Ability, English Language, Statistics and General Studies
  • Tier 3 Is for the Candidates who qualified Tier 1 and Tier 2 and has 100 questions. Tier 3 Includes Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (Writing of Essay, Precis, Letter, Application etc.)
  • Tier 4 is for Candidates who qualified Tier 1,2,3. Tier 4 Includes Skill Test: Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)/ Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).

Note

  • For all Posts: Candidates appearing for Tier – II have to take Paper – I and Paper – II.
  • Candidates, who have filled Junior Statistical Officer Post have to take Paper – I, Paper – II and Paper – III.
  • Candidates who have filled Audit/Accounts Officer Post have to take Paper – I, Paper – II and Paper -IV
  • Important: Candidates who have filled posts of Statistical Investigator and AAO, have to appear in all Paper – I, Paper – II, Paper – III and Paper – IV.
